Just phenomenal!
I have always wanted to see Jerry McComb's music and appreciate the show, even though I'm not a huge fan of this genre. He has the cream of the crop for his large band on every instrument, making it one of the best bands I have ever heard (and I'm a musician myself).
It was a fantastic combination of all of Carlos' music over the decades and very uplifting and enjoyable, even though some fans were disappointed that he did not play a lot of his big hits. He is known to change up setlists to 'better suit his mood'.
The show had great band intros with individual short solos by each to show their chops, and an extended solo in the middle by the musical director bass player and the drummer (Carlos' wife Cindy). Just top-notch musicianship all around and they were all having fun.
With a powerhouse rhythm section including a drummer, percussionist, and conga player (all spectacular), you couldn't help but 'fell' the music. Talk about a powerhouse rhythm section!
Carlos, of course, took a few moments here and there to voice his thoughts on positivity and making us all better people. Nothing too preachy and very genuine, especially if you have read his biography - which is great as well.
